JAPAN DAY 1: KUL-KIX-KYOTO

We decided to travel at least 2 times a year. Since we already went to Phuket last year, i proposed we go to Japan for our next trip. We (read me 😑) did lots of surveying, googling, making quotation from different travel agents, yada yada (you wont believe all these took months). And we decided to go on our own, without any tour guide (cheapskate!).

So our plan was to cover as many places as we can in less than a week. We choose Kyoto, Osaka and most definitely Tokyo. Flights ticket is covered by staff e-coupon, thanks to Papa. Bought JR Pass via Klook (will explain details later, why we choose this), book Airbnb for our accommodations, exchange some cash to Yen and voila, we ready to go!

I'll share my initial (full) itinerary here. Complete with where to go and how to get there with some awesome tips. 😍😍

Quite ambitious. Hahahaha as there is saying, kita hanya mampu merancang, Allah yang menentukan. Dah sampai sana baru tahu erti penat + nak kena consider Zara, so we kinda just go with the flow once we were there.

Day 1:
We arrive at KIX at around 330pm local time. Coming from Malaysia/Boleh-lah Land, we were so impressed with how efficient and fast Japanese are. The immigration/custom check is less than 5 minutes even there was like 500 people queuing, and when we went to the baggage claim, they already pick up our bags from the conveyor and nicely arrange them, so that we can find them easily. Yup, in less than a minute we got our bags.

First thing we did was exchange our JR Pass to a real one at the JR Pass. Just follow the signboard. From the arrival hall went straight to the Trains area. Got our JR Pass, we board Limited Express Haruka to Kyoto Station from KIX (70minutes).

excuse our pale/tired face

Tak sempat nak tidur, seriously sebab tengah excited tengok view, suddenly we already arrived at Kyoto Station. So fast la this trains 😊

And we got lost in finding our way out of the station. 😂😂😂 Almost an hour we've been circling the station, asking locals but they also have no clue (they tried their best to help us, siap suruh kitorang duduk dulu, while he running around looking the way for us to get to our Airbnb. Lastly, we felt sorry for him and told him its okay, we just gonna find our way.

The Airbnb owner already provided us with the guidance on how to get there from the station. But its a little confusing. My advise if you interested to rent the same place (really worth it, affordable, very near to the station, Family Mart is just across the road), once you get there (Kyoto Station), just ask the trains officer the way out to Avanti (a mall). And the rest is easy, just a straight walk about 1-2 minutes and you will find the apartment.

Sampai Airbnb, semua dah kepenatan, plan awal konon nak pergi Fuhimi Inari tapi memang tak larat dah. So we decided to eat Ayam-Ya for dinner and just enjoy the night walk around Kyoto that night.

The famous Ayam-Ya is one of the halal ramen in Japan. So, no wonder when we were there, the place is full with other Malaysians. The price is considered as cheaper here (dont convert the price to MYR, you will get an heart attack) 😬😬 For a bowl of ramen in chicken broth is about 800-900 yen but if in Malaysia i would definitely wont buy a ramen/noodles priced almost RM 25-30 just for one bowl. Hahaha. Thats why, dont convert, just buy. 😅

How to order the ramen? Can check out my ig for the video.

till next time,
